2023 The Year of Automation

Whether we’ve rolled into the new year with ease or stumbled into it unknowingly, now is a good time to set goals for the year ahead.

With goal-setting, it helps to take inspiration from business practices that are resulting in big successes across the board. Among many of these practices, process automation is coming out to be a rising star.

The Internet’s Favorites

Once upon a time, products of creativity had to undergo long hours of brainstorming and vigorous execution. With Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning’s advancement coming into the picture, tech has now enabled the same results in mere seconds.

By now, we’ve heard some of the ever-expanding capabilities AI is creating. Instead of browsing through multiple tabs, you can get consolidated information by interacting with ChatGPT. Rather than going through a cycle of typing and deleting phrases for a written post, you can turn to JasperAI for prompts.  When you want to create art without having to deal with multiple layers, DALL-E can whip up something for you.

AI is quickly becoming a crowd favorite because it counters a very demanding opponent: the looming deadline.

For the Smart and Tech-Savvy

It’s no great wonder why businesses have been tipping their toes in process automation. It speeds up processes, is consistent round the clock, and is easily accessible. If the low-code industry’s growth is any indication (projected $187.0 billion in revenue by 2030*), 2023 is the perfect time to test the waters for your own business.

Microsoft Power Automate, for example, does actions like trigger notifications, copy files, collect data, and others all on its own—depending on the workflow you set up.

What makes this type of software tool remarkable is its ability to integrate with other business-related products, such as customer relationship management (CRM), relational database management system (RDBMS), microblogging and social networking services, instant messaging, and more.

Though it may be challenging to change up current business practices, adapting to new technologies and practices is important, and a way to keep up in this everchanging economic climate. Tech-savvy businesses are leading the charge, and have been automating their processes for years already.

The Ones That Get It, Get It. The Ones That Don’t, Don’t

Some businesses use process automation to make the deadlines (instant output-generating tools), others make working a lot easier and faster with workflow automation tools, but there’s another group who are using process automation for maximum optimization: Automating precise operations.

There are process automation tools specific to business operations. For example, banks are able to automate background checks and validation in order to speed up the dispatching of credit cards.

In the same principle, managed service providers (MSPs) can automate processes such as ticket dispatching to quicken the job of the ticket dispatcher. Other operations that help MSPs are bots that alert managers when needed actions are not taken or specified parameters are not met.

Improving what you do and providing excellent service is great, but adding speed through automation would mean you could provide all your greatness to your clients at a pace that’s faster than the rest.
