Here are the Most Exciting MSP Trends for 2023

Nothing is more thrilling than being in the MSP space just in time for the new year. After seeing the massive growth the industry has undergone in 2022, the future looks bright for everyone in the MSP world for years to come. In anticipation of this MSP boom, here are the MSP trends to look out for in 2023.

The keyword and the champion of this MSP trend is “robotic process automation” (RPA). Global Community Intelligent Automation Network highlighted the significant adoption rate increase of Intelligent Automation (IA) and RPA in 2022 and its expected growth in 2023.

Their 2023 Intelligent Automation Spend & Trends Report found that out of 400 respondents, 64% had already invested in IA, and 35% are planning to adopt it within the next year. At the same time, 42% are already investing in RPA, while 54% plan to do so in 2023.

Process automation will set a new trend due to RPA’s ability to replace manual work, manage business processes, and be user-friendly. For example, MSPbots has over 1000 bots programmed to perform actions that significantly speed up MSP processes. RPA bots make sure that businesses are always on track.

Ankit Panchal from Advaiya Solutions sums up perfectly why process automation is happening so rapidly by stating:

“RPA bots can seamlessly integrate with your existing workflow so that you don’t need to create or modify a completely new system.”

Next on the list is the surge of popularity surrounding machine learning (ML) use. Every industry that can get its hands on it has started incorporating ML into its processes.

As it continues to evolve, ML can now manage large amounts of data and produce outcomes in a shorter period.

A timely example of this is ChatGPT. This chatbot made by OpenAI blew up on the internet by acquiring one million users in just five days after its launch—a record speed! ChatGPT operates on reinforcement learning which is a training method under machine learning.

The key phrase “low-code, no-code solutions” is made possible by ML, and this is in application to IT processes. Low-code solutions allow technicians to quickly test ideas and find the best one for specific needs, reducing time-to-delivery and costs.

Using ML’s capabilities in IT support could bring the industry into a new era of performance. Even MSPbots may be utilizing ML in a new way in 2023. (Stay tuned!)

The restrictions of the pandemic brought about a necessity to create remote work environments. This also opened up the possibility of companies expanding their candidate search and hiring from anywhere in the world. In-person working spaces were optional as long as the processes are followed effectively and efficiently online.

However, with the return of some “normalcy,” work setups will also experience shifts. Businesses now have the discretion to continue with the fully remote work setup, return to the office, or try a mix of both by going hybrid.

There are varying opinions on which option is best. According to a 2021 Remote Work & Compensation Pulse survey, the most preferred setup was hybrid since it had the “best of both worlds.” But in another report, 60% of employees favored working entirely remotely.

With all of the inevitable changes coming in 2023, MSPs will have to consider how to best aid businesses with different work setups and solve complex problems for their clients.

Businesses could look into attendance managing apps, automated ticket dispatching, and even business intelligence dashboards to keep everything on track.

The choice of these management tools matters as each could be one of the biggest factors that will propel businesses into success in the new year.
